Tamil Nadu’s real estate regulator, TNRERA, has introduced a graded penalty system to curb misleading property advertisements. From July 1, developers face fines up to ₹5 lakh for violations, with penalties tiered based on project cost. This move strengthens transparency norms, requiring mandatory display of registration numbers and QR codes, and prohibits deceptive claims. TNRERA is now actively enforcing advertising standards to protect homebuyers.
